Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about ToolsHub, data privacy, supported file formats, and technical capabilities.

Are my files or photos uploaded to any server?
Tool inputs are processed locally in your browser rather than uploaded for conversion. Visiting the site or loading an external PDF library still involves network requests. Read the privacy policy for details about external connections.
Can I use ToolsHub offline or without an active internet connection?
Many tools can keep processing after their page and dependencies have loaded. Reloading, navigating to an uncached page or loading a PDF library may need internet access. ToolsHub does not install an offline cache or guarantee that every workflow works offline.
What are the maximum file sizes I can process?
Because file processing occurs directly in your browser's allocated memory:
  • Images: Limits depend on dimensions and available canvas memory, not just file size.
  • PDFs: Page count, images, encryption and device memory affect what can be processed.
  • Text & code: The reindenter accepts up to 200,000 characters. Diff comparison allows up to 1,000,000 combined characters and 2,000,000 line pairs. Regex matching has a timeout and shows at most 1,000 matches.
Is ToolsHub free to use? Are there usage limits?
ToolsHub is 100% free with no account creation, no subscriptions, and no daily usage limits. You can process as many files and calculations as your computer can handle.
How does the Image Compressor preserve quality while shrinking file sizes?
JPEG and WebP output use the browser encoder with a selected quality value; resizing can reduce dimensions as well. Lower quality can introduce visible artifacts. Compare the preview and output size: reductions are not guaranteed, and PNG quality controls do not behave like JPEG quality.
Which web browsers are supported?
Use a current Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge release with JavaScript enabled. Clipboard and Web Crypto features may require HTTPS or localhost. Image codecs and memory limits vary, and PDF tools need their dependencies to load.
