🖥️ Aspect Ratio & Screen PPI Calculator

Calculate unknown dimensions based on proportional aspect ratios, find the ratio between resolutions, and compute screen pixel density (PPI).

16 : 9

2. Screen Pixel Density (PPI) & Dot Pitch

Pixel Density: 108.79 PPI
Dot Pitch: 0.2335 mm
Total Megapixels: 3.69 MP

How Screen PPI is Derived

Pixels Per Inch (PPI) measures the display sharpness using the Pythagorean theorem:
PPI = √(Width² + Height²) / Diagonal Inches
Displays exceeding ~220 PPI are typically categorized as "Retina" or high-DPI displays where individual pixels become indistinguishable at standard viewing distances.

How to use Aspect Ratio & Screen PPI

Enter known dimensions or select a preset ratio to calculate the missing dimension. For PPI, supply resolution and diagonal screen size.

What to check before using the result

Pixel density does not describe color accuracy or image quality. Rounding may produce dimensions that slightly change the ratio.

Example: Scaling a widescreen image

With a 16:9 ratio, a width of 1920 gives a height of 1080. For PPI, enter the screen resolution and its diagonal size in inches. Aspect ratio controls shape; PPI describes pixel density.
