🔑 Hash & Checksum Generator
Compute SHA-256, MD5, SHA-1, SHA-384, and SHA-512 cryptographic hashes for text or local files. Powered by the native Web Cryptography API.

How Cryptographic Hashes Work
A cryptographic hash is a deterministic one-way mathematical function that compresses arbitrary data into a fixed-length string of bits. Changing even a single letter in the input completely alters the resulting digest (known as the avalanche effect). ToolsHub utilizes hardware-accelerated crypto.subtle.digest() for security and high throughput.
How to use Hash & Checksum Generator
Enter text or select a file, choose a hash algorithm and generate its checksum. Compare it against a trusted expected value when available.
What to check before using the result
MD5 and SHA-1 are unsuitable for security-sensitive integrity checks. A hash is not encryption or password storage.
Example: Comparing a downloaded file checksum
Select your file and compare its SHA-256 value with a checksum published through a trusted channel. A matching checksum confirms matching content, not who created the file. Prefer SHA-256 or SHA-512 for security-sensitive integrity checks.
